Lake Powell is a popular destination for boating and week-long houseboat trips, along numerous canyons of the Colorado River and by Rainbow Bridge. It is named after John W. Powell who led 1869 Powell Geographic Expedition through the area and (downstream) included a first ever passage of the Grand Canyon.
Lone Rock is camping area just a mile into Utah.
Wahweap offers great views of the lake and boats that come and go.
