Prairie Dogs: (specifically the North American most common Black Tailed Prairie Dogs)
Highly sociable, living in "Prairie Dog Towns" which are further divited into coteries - family units including 1 male, 3-5 females, and their offsprings.
On average 5 pups (but up to 10) are born in March
Each burrow is 4-7 ft deep and up to 15-25 ft long. Separate chambers serve as listening chamber(uppermost),
sleeping, dry and toilet chambers. They use at least 11 different communication calls such as "Danger" and "All Clear".
